Karen Muncaster is interim vice president for student affairs and vice president of the Rabb School of Continuing Studies.
As interim vice president for student affairs, Muncaster reports to the Provost and oversees community living, community service, the Brandeis Counseling Center, Dean of Students, the Health Center, Hiatt Career Center, Hillel, orientation, the Prevention, Advocacy & Resource Center, student activities, student rights and community standards and student-related Title IX investigations.
Muncaster came to Brandeis University in July 2014 to serve as vice president of the Rabb School of Continuing Studies. Prior to Brandeis, Muncaster was vice president for professional and continuing education at Boston Architectural College. Previously, she was associate vice president for academic technology and program design at Lesley University. Her past roles include launching the online education division as dean of continuing education at Southern New Hampshire University and serving as the director of services for students with disabilities and then as the director of continuing education at Middlesex Community College. She has also taught high school special education classes.
Muncaster holds a a BS from Indiana University, an MEd from Tufts University and a PhD in higher education administration from Boston College, where she focused her research on the support of part-time faculty in the academy.
